In short
Who is Jason Lim, and how can he help?
I am a Johor Bahru–based property advisor with ten years in Malaysian real estate. I help buyers make smarter decisions — whether for own stay or investment — by explaining the location, pricing, rental and resale picture, the hidden costs, and the mistakes that can cost you thousands. Before property I worked in insurance, and I hold a will-writing licence, so I also look at how the property fits your family’s wealth and succession plan. I work with local buyers, Singaporeans, and overseas buyers from India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China and beyond.

What I will not do. I will not promise you a rental yield or a capital-growth figure, and I will not push a project because it pays the highest commission. What I will do is show you the facts — including the ones that count against a purchase — and help you structure the one you choose properly.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can a foreigner buy property in Malaysia?
Yes, in most cases. Each state sets its own minimum purchase price for foreign buyers and requires state consent, and some property types (such as certain reserved or low-cost units) are closed to foreigners. The rules differ between states and change from time to time, so I confirm the current position for the exact project before you commit.
Which name should the property be in?
It depends on your goals — own use, rental income or long-term holding — and on who you want to inherit it. Personal, joint and company ownership each affect financing, costs and future transfer differently. We work this out first, with a lawyer or tax adviser involved where needed.
What happens to my Malaysian property if I pass away?
Without a will that covers your Malaysian assets, your family may face a longer and more costly legal process before they can deal with the property. As a licensed will writer, I can help you put a will in place alongside the purchase.
Can I get a Malaysian home loan on a foreign income?
Some Malaysian banks do lend to foreign buyers, usually with a lower loan margin than for locals and stricter document checks. I can connect you with bankers who handle foreign applications so you know your numbers before you book a unit.
Do I need to fly to Malaysia to buy?
Not for most of the process. Viewings can be done by live video call, and much of the paperwork can be handled remotely through the lawyers. Some steps may still need your signature in person or at an embassy — I will tell you exactly which ones for your purchase.
