About Jason Lim

I’m Jason Lim (Lim Teck Chuan), a property agent in Johor Bahru. For 10 years I have helped buyers from Malaysia, Singapore and further afield buy, sell and rent property in JB, and I run the YouTube channel Smart Asset with Jason.

Why my background is a little different

Before focusing on property, I worked as an insurance agent, and I am also a licensed will writer. That shapes how I work. Most agents stop at the booking form. I also look at what happens after: how the loan is protected, whose name should be on the title, and how the property passes to your family. For cross-border buyers, those questions often matter as much as the unit itself.

How I write this website

• Sources on the page. Where a rule or a number comes from a law, a government notice or a professional firm, I link to it.
• The downsides too. If something counts against a purchase, it goes on the page.
• Corrections in the open. When I get something wrong, I fix it and note it on the Updates and corrections page.
